The Claremore City Council voted to approve a waiver allowing alcoholic beverages at the Shoreline Shred mountain-bike event at Happy Lake in September 2025.
An event representative described the Shoreline Shred as a multi-day mountain-bike event that attracts riders from across the state and said volunteers and sponsors support the race. The representative said the event typically draws "170, 200" riders and highlighted the hand-built trail network and local volunteers. "We're always thrilled...it brings a whole different crowd," the representative said.
Councilors asked organizers to keep staff updated on logistics. Staff noted the event has coordinated with the police department and will use the expo parking and overflow lots to manage crowds. The vote to approve the waiver passed on a roll call with council members indicating support.
Organizers and city staff will continue to coordinate permits, security and parking plans ahead of the event.
