Chester County schools report field house occupancy, turf installation and TCAT partnership for career-technical spaces

District leadership updated the board on several capital projects, saying walk-throughs were completed at the new multipurpose space, field house and the agricultural and automotive facilities.
The district said the fire marshal gave permission to occupy the field house and multipurpose space but that the turf installation by AstroTurf required final sand and rubber infill before full use; district staff expected the turf firm to finish the following weekend. The district plans to place rubber matting, exercise equipment and lockers in phases and anticipates using the field house for football team needs once turf and remaining finishes are complete.
At the ag and auto campus, staff reported ongoing cleaning, an outstanding electrical inspection and several minor repairs. The district said it has acquired a part-time collision-repair instructor in partnership with TCAT Jackson; the instructor will begin when the school year starts. Officials said they would likely aim for moving into the new career-technical facilities around Labor Day rather than forcing an earlier start while equipment and furniture are still being installed.
Staff emphasized signage, a formal grand opening schedule and ensuring facilities are fully ready before public introduction.
