Sealy Park ribbon-cutting set for Sept. 21; Lost Woods festival sign approved

Director Shargi announced that Sealy Park's renovation is complete and invited the public to a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 21 at 3:30 p.m. "We would formally like to invite everyone to our celebration or ribbon cutting on September 21 at 03:30," Shargi said.
The council unanimously approved a temporary sign request at 1400 E. Lone Tree Road for the Lost Woods Music Festival, with removal immediately after the event on Sept. 27, 2025. Jacob Paul, the festival organizer, described the event's focus on music, art and community participation and asked for the sign to increase public awareness and ticket sales. "Don't forget to visit lostwoods.live to get your tickets for a magic music festival in the woods," Paul said.
Councilors also announced other community events, including a jazz event at Sierra Leone Park following a park dedication and recognition of visiting students at the meeting.
The approvals are procedural and time-sensitive because the sign is tied to a fixed event date.
