District reviews south‑campus site options and operational study; bidding strategy undecided

The administration presented a preliminary draw schedule with schematic design through November, design development through April, construction documents through September 2026, planned bidding in the fall and a potential construction start the following February — while emphasizing the schedule could change depending on civil‑engineering findings.
An operational study using 360-degree imaging is underway to map three district facilities (a three‑floor storage building, the transportation building, and a reserve center) and to identify consolidation or storage efficiencies. The study's findings will inform whether storage and operations can be centralized and how that affects site selection and phasing.
Board members and staff discussed phasing and budgeting: administrators said they were preparing as if they could bid multiple buildings simultaneously but would defer or phase work if financial constraints require it. Members asked about athletics and practice fields; administration said turf fields and lighting for the middle-school field are being considered to help high-school scheduling.
No formal decisions or votes were taken; the administration will return with civil-engineer input, operational-study results and cost estimates for future board consideration.
