Bryan ISD used the meeting to spotlight employees and student achievements. Leslie Hernandez, a certified cashier at Kemp Elementary, was named February Auxiliary Employee of the Month for her reliability and work across multiple kitchen roles; Bridget Young, assistant director of school nutrition, introduced Hernandez and noted her attention to students’ names and positive service. Tim Pavlis of Truist Bank presented gift certificates to the honorees.
The district also recognized Noah Storimsky as transportation employee of the month; Pat Corbett, interim executive director of operations, described Storimsky’s work on special‑needs routes, grounds support and help in the transportation shop.
Assistant director of fine arts Jacob Justice and choir directors acknowledged Bryan High senior Christian Eddington for earning a spot in the Texas All‑State Choir for a second time. The board and staff praised his talent and work ethic and noted his plans to pursue music in college.
In a broader update, the superintendent highlighted recent district accomplishments: debate team qualifiers advancing to state competition, Johnson Elementary fourth graders’ participation in a KBTX weathercast, 100‑day elementary celebrations, Bryan and Rudder wrestling UIL successes, a Rudder girls basketball playoff berth, signing days for student‑athletes, SPIRE program performances at Jane Long Intermediate, and cosmetology teacher Shronda Williams’ recognition by a local law firm and media outlet.
