Commission adopts minor housekeeping amendments to 2024 Truckee Meadows Regional Plan (RPA 25-003)

The Truckee Meadows Regional Planning Commission voted to sponsor and adopt RPC resolution RPA 25-003, a set of minor policy and mapping amendments to the 2024 Truckee Meadows Regional Plan.
Shawnee Souza, regional planner, told the commission the amendment package is primarily housekeeping: updating the data source for natural resource consideration areas to reflect endangered and threatened species layers, moving the Truckee Meadows trails plan hosting to Team RPA (teamrpa.org), and fixing map references and legends. "We gathered information regarding endangered species and threatened species to more accurately represent these data layers and added the new source to the policy language as well," Souza said.
The package also updates the plan’s energy section and adds a heat-mapping project led by the UNR state climate office, and it aligns the regional plan’s annual reporting schedule with 2025 legislative changes that shift submittals from April to October and from calendar to fiscal year. Souza said the amendments are not anticipated to change conformance-review outcomes but will improve clarity and accuracy of plan materials.
There was no public comment on the amendment. A motion to sponsor and adopt RPC resolution 25-003 was made and seconded and passed by voice vote.
