The Gatesville ISD board adopted an order calling a trustee election for Tuesday, Nov. 4 to elect two trustees to full three-year terms and approved related election-administration appointments.
Staff said early voting will be held in the two weeks prior to the election and that the filing deadline for candidates is Aug. 18 at 5 p.m. The board also recommended appointing the Coryell County tax assessor-collector/early voting clerk (named in the transcript as Justin Crothers) as the district's Corio County election administrator and Dr. Desi Roberts as the Bell County election administrator; both appointments were approved by the board by voice vote.
Trustees discussed minor cost implications from the district's small sliver of territory in Bell County, which requires paying Bell County election costs estimated at about $1,500 to $2,000. Staff said they will prepare candidate packets and finalize early-voting locations.
