Bound Brook Board honors students, teachers and support staff at April meeting

Doctor Freeman called up school representatives to announce students of the month from Lamont School, Lafayette School, Smalley School, Community Middle School and Bound Brook High School. Individual student remarks and teacher nominations highlighted favorite subjects, hobbies and future plans; for example, one elementary student said she wants to be a police officer and a high-school senior was noted as planning to attend Gettysburg College.
The board also recognized the district's NJEA Most Improved Student (Cameron Riddick) with comments from teachers praising her perseverance and academic growth. Jessica Craig was recognized as Bound Brook School District support staff of the month for her work supporting students with IEPs and collaborating with parents and staff. Doctor Santasirma announced Victoria Esposito as District Educator of the Month and described hands-on science labs and student council activities that engage learners.
The meeting included applause and group photos; the chair then thanked all educators and resumed regular business. An audible expletive was recorded in the transcript during one eighth-grade announcement; the public record shows the chair managed the moment and the meeting continued.
