Superintendent Doctor Warner invited Mister Dalton to give a project update for Chase City Elementary. Dalton told the board that teachers are expected to move out within the next couple of weeks and that an auction of building contents is scheduled for July 12. He said the district hopes to turn the building over to Blair Construction in Hollister so demolition can begin.
"We look to have the teachers moved out within the next couple of weeks and have the auction date stated for July 12," Mister Dalton said. He added the district hopes to complete turnover to Blair Construction so demolition work can commence.
Board members asked no substantive follow-up questions during the report. The board noted upcoming calendar items and confirmed the demolition and turnover timeline will be coordinated with facilities staff. No dollar amounts, contract terms or firm demolition dates beyond the auction were provided in the meeting record; the district will provide implementation details through facilities staff and subsequent agenda items.
Next steps identified on the dais included facilities coordinating turnover logistics and the district confirming auction and demolition scheduling.
