Enid Public Schools outlines summer school, feeding and summer hours

District administration provided details about summer programming and operational hours for the coming summer.
Superintendent Doctor Darrow said summer school will begin May 27 (after Memorial Day) and run through June 19, with elementary sites at Garfield and Monroe and two middle‑school sites (Longfellow and Waller this year). High‑school offerings include credit recovery (largely online) and a driver's education program; district staff reported roughly 176–180 high school students are enrolled in summer programs at the time of the meeting.
The child nutrition program will offer free meals to those 18 and younger at Garfield and Monroe; the district removed Enid High as a feeding site this year because numbers did not support it. The district also announced summer office hours from June 2 through July 25, with workdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays off to support energy conservation and staff schedules.
Board members thanked staff for the work. Administration said it will continue to track enrollment and adjust sites based on participation.
