Trustees approved temporary appropriations for fiscal year 2026 so district business can begin July 1, accepted a supplemental appropriation for Transportation Bond Fund 34, and authorized the purchase of three buses.
Administration reported the district's finances are in good standing and described a possible TSET grant opportunity. The superintendent said TSET is expected to release a $150 million program that requires a minimum $3 million application and noted the district could submit a package of roughly $4.7 million in projects that would carry a district match of about $705,000. He cautioned there is no guarantee of award.
On the bond funds, the board approved a 2025 supplemental appropriation for Transportation Bond Fund 34 of $301,639.50 after bond proceeds arrived earlier than planned, enabling the district to purchase buses now rather than waiting for the next fiscal year. The board then approved buying three previously leased buses from Holt Truck Centers for $213,600 (roughly $71,200 each); administration said the buses average about 29,000–43,000 miles and include warranties. "These buses are on average $71,200 apiece," a district speaker said.
All motions passed with recorded roll call votes from trustees present. Administration said the supplemental appropriation and bus purchase will allow transportation needs to be met for the fall.
