The Hanover Area School District Board of Education on July 22 approved multiple financial and personnel recommendations and appointed an instructional aide.
The board reported it had convened an executive session earlier in the day on employee relations, labor negotiations and threatened or actual litigation before opening the public meeting at 7 p.m. After the superintendent’s report, members moved to accept the superintendent’s report and then voted to approve general recommendation items 1, 2 and 4–9; the board voted to table general recommendation item 3.
Financial recommendations (items 1–7) were approved by roll call. Personnel recommendations (items 1–7) were likewise approved by roll call later in the meeting.
On a separate personnel motion, Superintendent recommended appointing Benetta Simmons as an instructional aide under the HAESPA contract, effective Aug. 20, 2025. The motion was moved and seconded and passed on a roll-call vote.
The meeting record shows roll-call confirmations of board members during votes; votes were recorded as "Yes" by the members present and motions carried. The transcript does not provide a complete, itemized roll-call table for each motion beyond the repeated recorded "Yes" responses during the financial and personnel votes.
The board announced its next work session and regular meeting for Aug. 12, 2025.
The meeting adjourned following the scheduled business.
