Board passes routine fiscal and facilities measures, raises capitalization threshold, announces summer programs

The Gettysburg Area School District board approved multiple routine fiscal and facilities items during Monday’s meeting, including establishing tax rates, adopting a resolution on homestead and farmstead exclusion, transferring capital projects funds, and approving facilities projects.

Roll calls recorded affirmative votes on items 6.2 (establishment of taxes), 6.3 (homestead and farmstead exclusion resolution) and 6.4 (end transfer of capital projects fund). The board also approved program and facilities items: 6.6 (a unified indoor bocce program) and 6.7 (high school sewer pump station renovation) were both approved by roll call.

In informational items, policy committee staff reported raising the capitalization threshold from $5,000 to $10,000; staff also announced the district’s free summer meal program runs Monday–Thursday through Aug. 7 at Gettysburg Gardens Middle School and noted Camp Invention for elementary students will run July 7–10. The board confirmed the next meeting will be in August at the district administration building.
