Cleveland — The Cleveland City Schools Board voted to confirm the list of teachers eligible for tenure after hearing a presentation on statutory eligibility requirements.

Separately, Mr. Bolanos gave a first‑person account of suffering a stroke during a test administration on April 22 and credited two students, identified in the meeting as Stephanie Castellanos and Lehi Lolly Barrios, for quickly getting help; he described staff AED use and an emergency response that led to hospital treatment and recovery. Board members and the superintendent praised the student responders.
