Council approves change orders and budget amendments for Silver Creek pump station project

Sally Sandy explained change order #2 adds a metal stairway to meet code at a cost of $12,143.02 and change order #3 replaces an automatic transfer switch destroyed by Hurricane Helene for $77,317.77. "That money will be coming out of contingency for this project," she said.
Council approved both change orders by voice vote. Sandy said the construction portion of the project is approaching $6.5 million and the total project including engineering and other costs is "almost an $8,000,000 project now."
To fund the change orders, staff presented and the council approved two budget amendments: $89,461 to transfer contingency to construction and $190,700 to increase the project fund for additional construction time. The amendments were approved by voice vote.
