Hopkinsville board dismisses several citations and approves default final orders

At its Sept. 9 meeting the Hopkinsville Code Ordinance Enforcement Board voted to dismiss two citations and approved final default orders for multiple cases.
Enforcement officer Jeffrey Watkins told the board that the first citation to Michael and Tiffany Bridal had been sent to the wrong address when issued; staff will correct the address and the board moved to dismiss that citation. Watkins said a second citation involving Williams Manns was recommended for dismissal because Manns was deployed with the military at the time of issuance. Code officer Darnell West similarly recommended dismissal for one mailed citation that was not properly issued.
The board then considered default final orders (agenda items 8b–8m). Staff said the orders list the violations and associated fines and include a $100 administrative fee where applicable. After a member question about vehicle locations (three vehicles were confirmed to be on a separate property on Russellville Road), the board approved the default final orders by voice vote.
The board did not provide detailed individual fine amounts for every case during the verbal record; the written orders in the official file will list each fine and any administrative fees.
