Council fills multiple vacancies on planning, zoning and housing boards

The Anderson City Council voted unanimously to fill multiple board and commission vacancies, including an appointment to the Anderson Housing Authority and selections for the planning commission and Board of Zoning Appeals.
For the Housing Authority the council approved the recommended nominee to fill the unexpired five-year term running to Dec. 31, 2027; staff noted the vacancy followed the departure of Miss Emily Owen. Planning director Mr. McKenzie reviewed applications and recommended Ross Epstein and Lamar Norris for planning commission seats; the council also appointed Todd Pruitt (attorney) and at-large members Jacqueline Freeman and Prasanna Parvendetti to the Board of Zoning Appeals.
Council members noted the importance of citizen participation on advisory boards and that two seats remain open on the Board of Architectural Review. All appointments were approved by unanimous voice vote.
