Superintendent Lavender recommended Hubbard after a community forum and a district survey that showed strong support for the candidate.
Hubbard introduced his family to the board and pledged to serve students and the community. "I may not know everything," Hubbard said, "people say nice things about me, but I promise I don't know it all, and I never will. But I promise that I'll try and do right by everyone here." His family members were present during the motion and the post-vote recognition.
According to Superintendent Lavender, the district fielded questions and survey responses from roughly 240 attendees at the community forum; the superintendent summarized that the candidate scored highly across measures of interpersonal skill, instructional leadership and cultural fit. Lavender moved the board to approve extending Hubbard a contract for the coming school year.
A board member (speaker 15) moved to approve the appointment, which was seconded and adopted by roll call vote. The board recorded affirmative votes during the roll call.
The vote concludes the formal hiring step. Board materials indicate Hubbard will begin duties July 1, 2025; the district will announce any transition details and a public welcome as the start date approaches.
