He said the work is included in the FY25–26 budget and will use an OMNIA preapproved vendor to avoid separate bid procurement; staff said minimal site work is expected and that a civil engineer has evaluated the pad.
One board member disclosed that a sister‑in‑law works for PlayCore and stated the relationship would not affect his judgment. Members clarified whether the motion approved relocation as well as replacement; staff confirmed the action covered both removal of the old equipment and installation at the new site. The board approved the contract on a roll call vote, 7–0.
Staff will finalize site work and schedule construction to meet the district timeline for summer projects.
