Student representatives report school-year starts as BCA urges partnership with board

Rebecca, speaking for the Blount County Education Association, thanked board members and district staff and urged continued collaboration: “A common purpose doesn't mean always agreeing, but it is about always listening, building trust,” she said, and encouraged board members to visit schools to see instruction firsthand.
Audrey Wilson, Eagleton’s student representative, described a spirited start to the year with welcome-back events, senior sunrise and successful opening-season results for football, soccer and volleyball. She also reiterated that teacher John Covey and his dual-credit business students achieved the state's highest pass rate on the SDC business exam.
Heritage’s representative summarized upcoming homecoming events, sports records and ROTC visits. Samuel Everett’s Stella Campbell shared academic and extracurricular highlights, including AP scholar recognitions and new staff hires. William Blount’s Parker Sice reported CTN renovations nearing completion (expected by late November), athletic results and student work-based learning placements.
The student reports emphasized school pride, extracurricular achievements and program participation; the BCA remarks framed the updates within a call for trustees to remain engaged with classrooms and families.
