Atascosa County Commissioners Court on Sept. 22, 2025, approved a contract with Know Ink LLC to provide electronic poll books for county elections, a procurement presented by Elections Administrator Kathy Sider.
Sider told the court the county attorney and the vendor had reviewed and revised the contract and that other local jurisdictions use the same company, which would make equipment sharing possible in the event of equipment failure. She said the new contract replaces the existing poll books that are no longer supported. The contract approval was made by motion and seconded; the court recorded a vote of three in favor with Commissioner Riley absent.
The county attorney's review and the fact the vendor is used by neighboring counties were cited as reasons to proceed. Sider said the county will keep spare equipment arrangements with neighboring counties as an operational safeguard. The motion noted the contract is subject to final county attorney approval and associated procurement procedures.
