Aberdeen School Board elects Aaron Schultz president, names Mikayla Rogers clerk and approves routine annual appointments

The board set its regular meetings for the second and fourth Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m., moving meetings that fall on a holiday to the following Tuesday. The schedule was approved on a motion from the floor.
Superintendent recommended appointing Mikayla Rogers, the district finance director, to serve as school board clerk, custodian of district funds and investment officer. The board approved the appointment by voice vote. The superintendent also recommended that Rogers be designated the district’s official representative for federal funds; that appointment was approved.
The board approved a number of routine annual appointments and designations, including the retention of Rory King to serve as the district’s attorney for the 2025–26 school year and designation of the Aberdeen Insider as the official newspaper for required legal notices.
Board president announced committee assignments for the coming year, including site and planning, utilization, negotiations, wellness and facility-improvement committees. Committee appointments were approved by voice vote.
The board reconvened the July 14 meeting after finishing annual organizational business and moved on to the consent agenda.
