Commissioners redistribute 2025 ambulance supplement among local providers

Commissioner or staff member Richard (presenting the figures) laid out the proposed amounts: "the updated amount for Monument Health ... would be $5,557.25" and a like amount to Spearfish Ambulance, with Sturgiss first-half allocation at $664.50, for a 2025 total of $11,007.79.
A motion to amend the 2025 budgeted ambulance amounts was made and seconded; commissioners approved the amendment. Staff said 2026 contract amounts will be updated to reflect the new distribution and that formal contract language can be revised next year.
The action does not increase overall county ambulance spending for 2025 but reallocates quarter payments among Monument Health, Spearfish Ambulance and Sturgis to reflect service-area changes.
