Annandale board stresses outreach for 2025 operating levy as election logistics shift

Speaker 3, who led the levy briefing, said the website consolidates levy information and emphasized, “Even if you consider yourself, a supporter … check this website out,” recommending board members and volunteers familiarize themselves with the materials so they can answer community questions.
The board was told the unexpected vacancy in State Senate District 29 after the death of Senator Bruce Anderson will place a separate election question on the Nov. 4 ballot, meaning district voters will face multiple items that day. Speaker 3 said district residents vote across Wright, Stearns and Meeker counties and urged clarity about where residents should cast absentee or early ballots.
The board’s outreach plan includes legal and informational mailers, scheduling presentations with civic groups, townships and neighborhood meetings, and maintaining a frequently asked questions page on the levy site. Speaker 3 asked board members to forward substantive community questions that aren’t yet addressed so staff can add answers.
On logistics, Speaker 3 confirmed early voting begins Sept. 19 and noted that confusion about polling places in areas split across counties is a concern the district is trying to address on the website.
The board did not take a formal vote on levy policy during the meeting; the discussion focused on communications, voter information and a calendar of outreach through the November election.
