Jeff Erickson of Erickson Solutions Group briefed commissioners Oct. 7 on endpoint detection and response (EDR), a security layer that detects malicious behavior rather than only file signatures. Erickson said EDR can block suspicious activity, provide forensic logs for incident response and is increasingly required by cyber insurers. He estimated roughly $4 per system per month for about 120 systems.
