Accusations arose that the council was not allowing people to speak; Speaker 1 responded that the council accepts comments on agenda items and must follow state law regarding responses to non-agenda items. "If there's an agenda item and somebody wants to come and speak on it, we want it...we want that input," Speaker 1 said, adding the council will stay within the letter of the law on responses.
