Chester County Board celebrates Westchester reading success and high educator survey participation

Unidentified Speaker 4 described a schoolwide reading initiative coordinated with Miss Amy Woolley at Westchester Elementary that earned the whole school an opportunity to attend a Rockabilly's game on May 9 after students met a reading quota. "So congratulations to the work done," Unidentified Speaker 4 said, noting Westchester had earlier been recognized as a reward school and received an A letter grade.
Later in the meeting Unidentified Speaker 4 reviewed educator perception survey results conducted in partnership with Vanderbilt. He said two schools — Chester County Middle School and Westchester — achieved 100% participation and that the district was ranked number two in the state at the initial reporting date. Speaker 4 said principals use the survey data in summer planning and staff development.
Unidentified Speaker 1 closed the meeting with calendar reminders: high school awards day on May 14, baccalaureate on May 18 and commencement on May 19 at Dryden Auditorium, and noted the next board meeting will be on May 20 at Jack's Creek at 5 p.m. The meeting was adjourned.
