On Sept. 15 the Cheatham County Commission approved multiple budget amendments for county operations and for the general purpose schools.
County amendments included special patrols for the jail ($7,053.48), several county clerk office line adjustments (including $32,065), ambulance emergency medical services ($1,200), a sheriff's department allocation ($5,000), an election commission adjustment ($104,270.80), and county buildings ($32,000). Funding sources were described in the packet as 'various.' The motion to approve county general amendments passed by roll call.
The Board of Education also requested school budget amendments, including $148,386.43 for career and technical education support services and two regular instruction adjustments ($42,205 and $342,444). The Board of Education recorded a 6–0 vote in favor of its amendments before the commission considered related items.
These amendments were approved during the meeting and recorded in the roll calls; commissioners indicated they will continue to monitor school requests and budget timing in future cycles.
