At its Sept. 9, 2025 meeting the Burrillville School Committee handled routine business: approval of the minutes and consent agenda, acceptance of warrants and invoices, a procurement award, personnel approvals and homeschool registrations.
The committee approved school warrant number 2 for the month of August (dated 09/09/2025) with a grand total expenditure reported as $2,828,690.39. Donovan Allen moved the motion to approve the warrant and Jill Calipay seconded; the motion carried on voice vote.
A motion to approve a bid for Anytime Plumbing and Heating as the district master plumber at a rate of $125 per hour was made and seconded; the committee approved the bid.
Personnel actions approved included the appointment of William L. Talian (effective 09/01/2025) and Ashley Spavold (paraprofessional at Burrville Middle School, effective 08/15/2025). The committee moved to receive and file subsequent appointments and approved them by voice vote.
Under new business the committee approved homeschool applicants; administrators reported there were 72 homeschool registrations at that time. The FY26 Burrillville School District budget update was received and filed.
