Boerne ISD approves pilot security agreement with Campus Guardian Angel

The Boerne Independent School District Board of Trustees voted June 16 to approve a master security services agreement with Campus Guardian Angel to pilot silent panic-alarm technology and remotely operated drones in district facilities.
Safety and security director Mister Goodrich described the arrangement as a proof-of-concept and an exchange of services: the district will provide facilities and logistical support while Campus Guardian Angel and partnering law-enforcement trainers deliver operational expertise and equipment for an evaluation period. Goodrich emphasized that the project began as a demonstration in January during the district annual mass-casualty exercise and that regional partners and first responders participated.
Trustees asked about financial exposure and operational oversight. Goodrich said the pilot had no direct financial hit to the district during the evaluation period and that any final agreement would be negotiated and executed by the superintendent in a form approved by legal counsel. s a regional host for statewide ALERT training, with multiple train-the-trainer sessions and a history of hosting participants from many agencies.
A motion to approve the master agreement and delegate negotiation and execution authority to the superintendent carried by voice vote.
The board directed staff to finalize contract terms, present the executed agreement to legal counsel and report back with evaluation findings from the pilot.
