The Bolivar R‑I Board of Education voted to accept BrandCo’s low responsive bid of $1.577 million to construct a four‑classroom expansion at the district’s ECLC site.
Staff described the project as fully designed; bids were publicly opened on June 13. BrandCo, already mobilized on site, submitted the low responsive bid and included an alternate for 20 additional parking spaces. Staff said mobilization will proceed and that the district will draw down state appropriation reimbursements as the project progresses.
Board members asked about procurement method and funding. Staff said the ECLC expansion used a design‑bid‑build approach (distinct from bond projects that used construction‑manager‑at‑risk/GMP methods) and that the total grant funding for the overall project package is $3 million with a 10% local match requirement.
The motion to accept BrandCo’s bid passed by voice vote.
Staff estimated a May 1 completion during FY26 for the scope presented, and said the district will monitor reimbursements as construction advances.
