The Albany City School District Board approved its routine consent agenda by voice vote and heard an announcement from Superintendent Hockrider that Freya Mercer has been hired as the district’s instructional supervisor for secondary humanities.
Acting Board President Tabitha Wilson called for a motion to adopt the routine consent agenda, which covers routine contracts, field trips and personnel matters. Board member Wolfgang moved with Board member Elmi Yahweh seconding; the consent agenda was approved by voice vote without set‑asides.
Following that approval, Superintendent Hockrider introduced Freya Mercer, saying she will join the district in August and assist during the summer transitional period. "We're very excited for Freya to join our team," Hockrider said, noting Mercer is a district resident and brings relevant experience.
The board had no further committee reports and moved to adjourn at the end of the meeting.
