The Agua Fria Union High School District governing board took several formal actions at its regular meeting.
Instructional time model: The board convened a required public hearing on the Instructional Time Model (ITM) and conducted a second reading as part of the board process. After no additional questions were raised during the hearing, a motion to approve the ITM for the spring 2024–25 term passed by roll-call.
Audit acceptance: District finance staff presented the annual comprehensive financial report, single-audit reporting package and compliance questionnaire. The presenter said auditors tested roughly 171 compliance areas and sampled around 503 data points, with the district demonstrating compliance on approximately 94% of questionnaire items. The board accepted the annual financial report and audit documents as presented.
Consent agenda and minutes: The board approved the minutes for the 03/05/2025 study session and regular meeting and approved the consent agenda after no items were pulled for discussion.
Superintendent employment agreement: The board convened an executive session under ARS 38-431.03 to discuss employment terms for the superintendent. After returning to open session, the board approved a three-year superintendent employment agreement commencing Jan. 1, 2025; board members recorded affirmative roll-call votes on the motion.
Roll-call notations in the record included members identified by surname and recorded votes of “yes” for motions described above (examples in the record: Silk, Colton, Acton/Landis/Adams where individually noted). The meeting adjourned following the superintendent employment approval.
