Fulton Elementary was reported at 92 percent complete with $11.87 million authorized and a $12.87 million contract value; teams expect substantial finishing work in classrooms and final inspections.
Michael Miller, vice president of Skilled Construction, told trustees the Fulton schedule experienced three independent delays that were outside the contractor's control, including unanticipated structural items in the existing building. He said those issues likely shift the classroom turnover into June but that the job remains under budget. On the high‑school schedule, Miller described early‑site discoveries (old utilities) that delayed the start; while the contract lists a December 2025 substantial completion, he said the contract could be pushed to February 7 contractually but that project stakeholders are working to achieve December if possible.
Trustees and staff discussed punch lists, final inspections (fire marshal signoffs), HVAC and access control completion and occupancy timelines; operations staff reiterated the goal to have classroom areas ready for students by the start of school.
The board also approved a separate bond‑funded item this meeting: a $354,000 LED retrofit for baseball and softball lighting (approved elsewhere on the agenda).
