The presiding speaker (S1) said the draft contract restores a previously signed clause stating the probationary period “shall be enacted by a vote” and updates the contract end date to 2027; S1 acknowledged a typographical error in clause 13 that showed 2029 and committed to correct it before the packet is released for the formal board meeting vote. “I will get that right there changed on there,” S1 said.
S1 said the evaluation instrument for supervisors will be distributed in December so responses are available for the March evaluation process and the board’s full review in April. The surveys will be anonymous and results summarized as percentage breakdowns by response option, S1 said. S3 reported that the most recent evaluation round produced an average score of 3.92 out of 5 with all 10 evaluations returned.
Board members discussed concerns about adding another evaluative instrument in the contract year. S1 cautioned that adding instruments could create duplication with previously distributed evaluations but said the board needs staff‑relationship feedback to inform its director review.
No formal motion or vote was recorded in the work session. S1 said all edits discussed will be incorporated into the packet and returned to board members before the meeting at which the contract will be considered formally.
