Monroe-Woodbury board approves districtwide safety plan, district and board goals and routine personnel and finance items

The Monroe-Woodbury Central School District Board of Education on Aug. 27 approved a package of routine and policy items, including the districtwide school safety plan and the superintendent'recommended district goals for 2025'26.
Board leadership opened the meeting by asking for approval of a revised agenda; the motion was seconded and carried. During the public comment period on the districtwide safety plan no members of the public spoke. When the board moved to action, members voted to approve the districtwide school safety plan.
The board also approved the minutes for prior August meetings; subsequently it approved the superintendent'proposed district goals and the Board of Education'level goals as presented. Human-resources and personnel items listed under agenda items 10.1'10.17 were approved after a motion and second. Business and financial items enumerated as 11.1'11.6 were likewise approved. The board approved the recommendations of the Committee on Special Education.
Board members offered routine operational remarks following the approvals, congratulating summer-school graduates and new staff and noting facilities and technology readiness for the start of the school year. The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn that passed unanimously.
