Hardin County’s fiscal court voted to approve a seven-year lease with Flex Financial, a division of Stryker Sales LLC, to equip county ambulances with power-load systems, cots and stair chairs.
County attorney Jenny Old opened a required public hearing on the lease, noting the Department of Local Government requires a hearing for any purchase or lease over $500,000. Old said the public notice listed the lease at roughly $882,000 over seven years and invited comment; no members of the public spoke, and Old closed the hearing.
The resolution presented to the court listed a precise total of $881,739.46. Judge Executive Keith Tall said the package covers six power-load systems, 10 PowerPro XT cots and five StairPro stair chairs, plus maintenance for the term. The court moved and seconded the resolution and, after a roll-call vote, declared the motion passed.
The lease was described in the meeting materials as intended to modernize ambulance equipment and reduce manual patient-handling strain for EMS crews. The court record does not show discussion of alternative vendors or a financing breakdown during the open meeting; the earlier public notice rounded the figure to $882,000.
The action follows the EMS director’s report on service demand and higher revenue collections year to date, which county leaders cited as part of ongoing equipment and operational planning.
The resolution was approved and the court moved on to other business.
