District staff updated the board on grounds maintenance spending and contract timing, reporting a total allocation of $324,800 as of January 2025 and $219,525 spent to date.
The presenter said routine mowings are being tracked and that additional mowings for an access road—eight at $560 each, totaling $4,480—had been identified. Staff noted that some work (for example at Sullivan Heights Middle School) would be handled by district crews rather than outside contractors, and that the district would monitor April–June usage to avoid exceeding contracted mowing limits.
Board members asked whether the contract auto-renews and whether the 6–8 additional mowings identified in the vendor note would occur; staff said the contractor would come out if needed and that staff would watch counts closely, particularly in May and June when schools are not in session.
No formal contract amendment or new funding appropriation was approved at the meeting; staff said they will report back if additional funding or action is required.
