Parent urges Coatesville board to reconsider reassigning cyber academy teacher

Rivera said the change affects ‘‘near 200 students’’ and described interruptions when her daughter needed help during a math test and could not reach the teacher until later in the afternoon. She urged the board to reconsider the reassignment, called the change ‘‘short sighted and unfair’’ and asked the district to prioritize continuity for cyber students.
The presiding officer acknowledged receiving Rivera’s email, thanked her for speaking and said the board would ‘‘be talking with Dr. Rybarczyk to make sure we can’’ follow up. Rivera said she had emailed the board and that she hoped the district would reconsider the staffing decision.
The comment was received during the public-comment portion of the meeting; no formal board action to reverse the assignment was recorded at the meeting.
