District expands paid internships, presents AIG draft for board study

She highlighted a Crown apprenticeship that the district reported can provide a guaranteed job upon graduation for students who complete the program.
Separately a district staff member presented the Lenoir County Public Schools AIG draft plan, which the presenter said is submitted to the board for study under state AIG program standards and Article 9B of the North Carolina General Statutes. The presenter asked the board to review the plan over the coming month and return with questions; final approval is planned for the next board meeting.
