The Centennial SD 28J school board opened its Sept. 24 work session with routine approvals and wrapped up with confirmations and a brief superintendent report.
Early in the meeting the board approved the evening agenda after a motion by Director Harden and a second by Director Stanley. The board later approved the Sept. 10 meeting minutes by voice/thumbs up. Near the end of the session Director Soleski moved and Director Stanley seconded a motion to extend the meeting up to 15 minutes; the extension passed. Director Newman moved to confirm in mass the agenda’s listed confirmation items (seconded by Director Harden); the board approved those items by voice.
Superintendent Owens gave a brief report highlighting an Oregon Department of Education director visit to Pleasant Valley Elementary, the inaugural district equity advisory committee meeting, regional superintendent collaboration, Rip City/Portland Trail Blazers community events and an upcoming homecoming parade and football game on Oct. 3.
The board adjourned the work session at 10:04 p.m.
