In addition to the larger debates on property sales, annexation and the Broadstone FMDP, the Mount Juliet planning commission took a series of other routine and substantive actions on Aug. 21, 2025.
- Mount Juliet Christian Academy Fieldhouse (item 8b): Staff recommended approval of a two‑building fieldhouse totaling about 30,000 square feet (two ~15,000 sq ft buildings) and the commission approved the site plan and requested waivers after staff and the applicant confirmed construction-access conditions and needed school‑board permissions for access through school property.
- Weller Life at Mount Juliet (items 8c and 8d): Staff recommended approval of the preliminary plat and final master development plan for the age‑restricted community at 535 Pleasant Grove Road; the commission approved both with staff conditions. Public commenters and nearby property owners raised typical screening and buffering concerns, which staff addressed on the record.
- Rezoning recommendations (items 9a–9c): The commission issued positive recommendations to the Board of Commissioners to rezone several RS‑40 parcels to Town Center Commercial (CTC) for addresses including 3336 North Mount Juliet Road and 43, 47, and 47B East Caldwell Street; staff said the land use plan supports CTC in those areas.
- Consent items: Staff provided a roll call of development cashier checks and letters of credit that can be released for Nichols Vale (several phases), Bridal Crown, Maple Crossing/Park Glen, and other routine financial items; the consent agenda and related items that required only ministerial review received positive recommendations and approvals where noted.
Each approved item will follow normal next steps (applicant compliance with staff conditions, and Board of Commissioners review where required).
