The hearing drew a packed public turnout from residents of nearby Whitley Bay condominiums, who said loud, amplified music has repeatedly disturbed their sleep and harmed neighborhood livability. "We are here in opposition ... Our specific request is that the city deny exterior amplified music for the bar location," said resident Mike Minette, representing a group of condo residents. He and others described late-night, sustained noise and occasional vehicles with powerful sound systems in nearby parking lots.
