GIS contract: Council approved a one‑year renewal with Gulf Coast Geographic Services LLC to provide analytical GIS services, mapping materials and web‑map hosting from Oct. 1, 2025, through Sept. 30, 2026, in an amount not to exceed $18,360. Staff said the contract has been renewed annually for three years with no price increase and that the amount was included in next year’s budget.
HDR task orders: Council approved amendments to HDR Engineering task orders for on‑call engineering and construction observation services. The amendment to Task Order 1 (on‑call services) was described as a one‑year renewal not to exceed approximately $73,951; Task Order 2 (construction observation) was approved for a not‑to‑exceed amount of $20,000.40. Staff stated these items were previously budgeted.
Temporary street closure: The council approved a request to temporarily close a portion of Celia Street on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for National Night Out neighborhood events. Council discussed access for a nearby mobile home park and confirmed the closure will not block all access to the area.
Why it matters: The personnel change affects all city employees’ leave accrual and the contract renewals maintain technical services the city relies on for mapping and engineering oversight. The street closure supports neighborhood policing and community engagement for National Night Out.
All motions were approved by vote; staff said the GIS contract and HDR task orders were included in the upcoming fiscal budget.
