Aransas Pass council approves multiple resolutions, tables conditional-use renewal

At its meeting the Aransas Pass City Council approved a series of resolutions and actions across development, personnel and administrative items.
Key outcomes: the council approved creation of the Aransas Oaks Public Improvement District and related reimbursement and development agreements. Council authorized a $20,000 pay increase for the municipal court judge and approved a Brown Harbor lease with Redfish Bay Marina LLC contingent on a purchase. The council authorized the city attorney to begin termination of an industrial district agreement with Garrett Construction Company and Ingleside Dock and Fuel Inc. and voted to begin the deannexation process for property at 520 Jacoby Lane (Property ID 14318).
The council also moved the Sept. 1 meeting to Sept. 2, approved a one-year publicity and tourism/visitor-center agreement with the Aransas Pass Chamber/Visitor Center (10/1/2025–9/30/2026) allocating 55% of hotel occupancy tax to the visitor center, and set a proposed ad valorem tax rate not to exceed $0.73 per $100 valuation, with a public hearing scheduled for Sept. 15, 2025. The conditional-use permit renewal for Richard Titus (Z2025-14) was tabled to the September meeting to allow further research.
Most motions passed by voice vote and were announced as carried; where roll-call tallies were not read aloud the mayor announced the motions carried. Councilmembers moved and seconded items on the floor before voice votes concluded each item. Several of the executive-session–originated items were acted on after the council returned to open session.
