Board hears concerns about dirty district vehicles, considers Ford Transit vans to replace Suburbans

"I've heard reports of, like, our transportation vehicles, like, dirty and stuff on when people are taking them to trips," Speaker 3 said, asking whether the district could improve cleaning standards at the start of the school year. Superintendent (Speaker 2) responded that "the majority of them get cleaned all summer," and Speaker 1 said they would "look into it."
Board members also discussed vehicle procurement options. Speaker 3 described comparing Ford Transit vans and Suburbans and argued Transits could reduce the need for multiple Suburbans on a single trip. "They hold, like, 12... you don't need the CDL for it, but it holds more people," Speaker 3 said. Speaker 2 confirmed the district previously began talking about the switch the prior spring.
No procurement decisions or budget authorizations were made during the meeting. The board identified the topic for future discussion and agreed to explore whether Ford Transit vans would meet operational needs and any licensing or training implications for drivers.
