Staff briefed the board on an existing memorandum of understanding with Second Harvest Food Bank following successful mobile market visits that distributed food, backpacks and shoes at Cannon Elementary and Cannon Middle.
"They came here in the summer to Cannon Elementary and Cannon Middle and distributed tons of food for us," Speaker 11 said, adding the partner has also provided backpacks, shoes and refrigerated distributions of milk and other fresh items. Board members and administrators described the mobile market as beneficial to families and recommended renewing the MOU to continue mobile‑market visits and related supports.
No objections were raised at the workshop and staff said the MOU is included in the meeting packet for the August 14 regular meeting where formal approval may occur.
