The Fridley Public Schools board voted unanimously to approve the district’s 2025–27 master agreement with the Fridley Education Association on a voice vote during its meeting.
Aaron Cuthbert, vice president of the Fridley Education Association and the union’s lead negotiator, presented the agreement, saying, "I was invited here today to present a contract that I'm very proud of," and described lengthy research and redlining that shaped the document. Superintendent Dr. Lewis reported that the union membership ratified the contract with "100% approval."
Board discussion was brief and supportive; Chair Stark moved to approve the master agreement and the board signaled assent by voice. The superintendent framed the contract as an investment in recruiting and retaining staff and said the level of unity among educators reflected a strong collaborative process.
The agreement was placed on the board’s consent agenda and approved without recorded roll-call numbers at the meeting. The board’s adoption moves the contract into implementation and the administration will proceed with the operational steps outlined during negotiations.
