Greensville board recognizes Teacher of the Year and five seniors headed to college

At its May 12 meeting the board honored Miss Caitlin Gregory as district Teacher of the Year and recognized five seniors who committed to colleges including Virginia State, Old Dominion, Morgan State and Norfolk State.
The Greensville County School Board’s May 12 meeting included special recognitions. The Upsilon Epsilon Zeta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., presented a gift honoring Miss Caitlin Gregory as the Greensville County Public Schools District Teacher of the Year.
Doctor Posey James recognized five seniors accepted to colleges: D'Kiyah Atkins (Virginia State University), Jaylen Easley (Old Dominion University), Jamerica Lewis (Morgan State University), Tiana Miles (Norfolk State University) and Madison Pickett (Old Dominion University). The district also announced division awards for best student attendance (96.6%), best staff attendance (Wyatt Middle School, 94%) and the cleanest school (Greensville County High School).
Speakers thanked teachers, school communicators and community partners and highlighted upcoming events such as the SOAR ceremony and a planned law-enforcement day in July.
