McCall council adopts America250 resolution and approves FAA-design grant for airport taxiway

The McCall City Council approved two formal actions during the meeting: adoption of a resolution endorsing the 'America 250 in Idaho' commemoration and authorization to submit a $2,500 grant application, and approval of an FAA Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grant agreement to design taxiway Kilo and complete Echo reconstruction.

Delta James, the city’s economic development planner, asked the council to adopt Resolution 25-22 endorsing the America 250 commemoration and to authorize submission of a $2,500 grant application to support the Lakeside Liberty Fest in 2026. The council also authorized the mayor to sign necessary documents.

For the airport item, Jerry Bison, operations superintendent at the McCall Airport, presented the AIP grant agreement and Forrest (city staff) stated the maximum federal obligation under the offer is $204,596. Council discussion noted that typical construction phases later require a local match of roughly 5–10 percent. The council moved, seconded and approved the grant agreement (AIP grant 3-16-0023-035-2025) and authorized the mayor to execute required documents.
